Not all nursing homes are created equal. Just as cities have low-income neighborhoods, nursing homes also experience wealth disparities. Low-income facilities often face staff shortages, less experienced personnel, and a smaller team dedicated to recreational activities. This leaves elders, many of whom have mental or physical limitations, without the support they need to participate in meaningful activities and sensory engagement.
